Luckily, there are tons of open-source or free online materials available, for people who want to learn embedded systems. In particular, we found two YouTube channels super useful.
Paul was a former electrical engineer now working as a high school teacher, teaching math and engineering classes.
His “Raspberry Pi Pico W Lessons for Absolute Beginners” is definitely recommended. His step-by-step lesson shows how to both code the Pico, and build circuits without assuming any prior knowledge.
Ben is another YouTuber making fascinating tutorial-style videos about electronics, networking and computer architecture.
His “Build a 6502 based Computer from Scratch” project teaches how to build a basic 6502 computer, and it helps to understand what is going on underneath the hood of the MCU world.
